Edge Up Skating Foundation
Three competitive figure skating sisters are turning their love of skating into opportunity.
Leila (16), Natalie (14), and Paige (12) Smith founded Edge Up Skating Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to breaking down the financial barriers that keep too many children from discovering the sport they love.
We provide free figure skating lessons to qualifying youth in the Greater Austin area, powered by volunteer coaches and the next generation of skating leaders.

Breaking Down the Cost Barrier
Figure skating shouldn't be a sport reserved only for families who can afford it.
Edge Up provides free figure skating lessons to qualifying youth in the Greater Austin area, giving children the chance to discover the sport without the financial burden of getting started.
As we grow, our goal is to expand access beyond lessons to help qualifying skaters with equipment, competition fees, and program preparation—opening more opportunities for young athletes to pursue skating as far as their talent and dedication can take them.
Families can qualify through programs such as SNAP or other forms of demonstrated financial need.

Your support helps remove the financial barriers to figure skating and gives young skaters the opportunity to discover what’s possible.
Developing the Next Generation of Skating Leaders
Skaters helping skaters.
Edge Up gives teen figure skaters the opportunity to turn their passion into purpose by learning to coach, mentor and lead.
Through volunteer coaching and leadership development, young skaters gain real-world experience while helping introduce a new generation of children to the sport.
Our vision is simple: one skater helps the next, and that skater grows up to help another.
