Volunteer With Edge Up

There’s More Than One Way to Give Back.

You don't have to be a figure skater—or know how to step onto the ice—to make a difference.

Edge Up Skating Foundation is built on community, and we rely on people who are willing to share their time, talents, connections, and ideas to help make figure skating more accessible.

Whether you want to help at an event, connect us with a potential sponsor, spread the word about our programs, organize a fundraiser, or lend your skills behind the scenes, there is a place for you at Edge Up.

How Can You Help?

There are lots of ways to support our mission. Some opportunities are ongoing, while others may be short-term or project-based.

Support Our Programs

Help with events, clinics, community programs, and other activities that give young skaters opportunities to participate and grow.

Depending on the program, volunteers may help with setup and cleanup, check-in, organization, supplies, hospitality, or other event needs.

Help Behind the Scenes

Nonprofits have plenty of work that happens away from the spotlight.

Volunteers may be able to help with:

  • Application review and program outreach

  • Administrative projects

  • Research

  • Marketing and communications

  • Community outreach

  • Event planning

  • Sponsor and donor support

  • Photography or creative projects

  • Other special projects

If you have a particular skill you'd like to share, tell us about it.

Spread the Word

Help us make sure families who could benefit from Edge Up know that we're here.

You can help connect us with:

  • Schools and youth organizations

  • Community centers and nonprofits

  • Local skating communities

  • Families who may qualify for our programs

  • Organizations serving children and families

Sometimes the most valuable thing you can give us is a connection to someone who needs to know we exist.

Have a Skill? We Can Use It.

Edge Up is growing, and we don't expect every volunteer opportunity to fit neatly into a category.

Maybe you're great at graphic design. Maybe you have experience with nonprofit administration. Maybe you're a fantastic event planner. Maybe you know everyone in town.

Or maybe you simply have an hour to spare and want to help.

Whatever you bring to the table, we'd love to hear from you.

Make a Connection

Know a local business, organization, foundation, or individual who might want to support our mission?

Help us build relationships with community partners and sponsors who can help Edge Up expand the opportunities we provide to young skaters.

You don't need to be a professional fundraiser. If you know someone who believes in helping kids access sports and you're willing to make an introduction, that connection can make a difference.

Fundraise

Have an idea for a fundraiser? We'd love to hear it.

You might organize a skating event, host a community fundraiser, create a team fundraising campaign, partner with a local business, or come up with something completely new.

Fundraising is one of the most direct ways to help us grow the resources available to skaters.

Your creativity can help put another skater on the ice.

Give What You Can

Volunteering doesn't have to mean making a long-term commitment.

Some people may volunteer every week. Others may help with one event, make an introduction, organize a fundraiser, or lend a particular skill to a project.

There is no one right way to give back.

We're grateful for whatever time and talent you can share.

Have an Idea?

Some of the best ways to support our mission haven't been invented yet.

If you have an idea for how you can help Edge Up—or a skill, connection, or resource you'd like to contribute—we want to hear it.

Ready to Get Involved?

Complete our volunteer interest form and tell us a little about yourself and how you'd like to help.

Not sure where you fit? That's okay. Tell us what you're interested in, and we'll help you find a way to contribute.
